Guanyin Waterfall
Drive 22 min · 9.3 km · 🔥 89
Guanyin Waterfall is located in Guanyin Village, Puli Township, right beside County Road 64, making it the most accessible waterfall in Puli. From the parking lot, it's about a 10-minute walk along the trail, passing through bamboo groves and a stream valley. In summer when the water volume is high, the three-tiered waterfall cascades all the way down, and the mist blowing against your face is very cooling. The first tier is the most spectacular, the second tier has a viewing platform, and the third tier requires climbing up with a rope (not recommended after rain as it gets slippery). The parking lot is small and tour buses are common on holidays, so arriving before 9 AM is recommended; fog tends to form in the mountains in the afternoon, so please allow enough time for the return trip.

Hutoushan Paragliding Site is located on the ridge beside Puli's Liyu Lake. The launch platform faces the Puli Basin and layered mountain ranges, making it one of the few flight sites in Taiwan where you can overlook an entire mountain town. The experience is a tandem flight (instructor-controlled), with equipment checks and ground briefing before takeoff. Flight time is about 8–12 minutes, adjusted according to air currents and weather. The package includes an instructor, paraglider, and insurance; just wear comfortable long pants and closed-toe shoes. In bad weather (excessive wind, rain, fog), flights are canceled and rescheduled. Booking a morning slot is recommended for more stable air currents. Fees and weight limits are subject to each operator's announcements; please book 3 days in advance.

Wujie Tribe is located in Fazhi Village, Ren'ai Township, where the Zhuoshui River and Wanda River converge. In the early morning, the sea of clouds rises from the river valley, submerging the tribe, tea plantations, and suspension bridge into a white ocean—making it one of Nantou's most famous sea of clouds destinations. Besides the sea of clouds, there are also Wujie Dam, Yixiantian (One Line Sky), Momonar Waterfall, and Qubing Archaeological Site, usually visited as a day tour led by tribal guides. Tours typically depart before 5 AM (seeing the sea of clouds depends on luck and season), and include shuttle transport, guided tour, and breakfast. Advance reservations are required, with a minimum of four people. Mountain roads are narrow and some sections require high-clearance vehicles—it is recommended not to attempt driving there on your own.
